    Tattoo aftercare is caring for your new tattoo to ensure it heals beautifully and lasts. At Ink Haven Studio in Salt Lake City, we preserve the quality of your artwork—whether AJ’s dark traditional or Sydney’s neo-traditional—using proper healing to prevent infections.
  2. How should I care for my new tattoo or piercing?
    • Keep it clean: Gently wash with mild soap and water, pat dry with a clean towel.
    • Moisturize: Use a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion or tattoo aftercare ointment (ask Gabby!).
    • Avoid soaking: No pools, baths, or hot tubs for at least two weeks.
    • Protect it: Wear loose clothing and avoid sunlight.
  1. How long does a tattoo or piercing take to heal?
    Tattoos heal in 2-4 weeks for the outer layer, months for deeper layers; larger pieces like Justin’s black and gray may take longer. Piercings vary but typically heal in 6-8 weeks with proper care.
  2. What should I avoid after getting a tattoo or piercing?
  • Avoid sunlight for weeks to keep your tattoo vibrant.
  • Don’t scratch or pick at scabs, even on Tony’s fine-line work.
  • Skip tight clothing that rubs against your tattoo or piercing.
  • Avoid swimming during the initial healing period.
  1. Can I walk in or do I need an appointment at Ink Haven?
    Yes! We welcome walk-ins and appointments. Visit us Tuesday-Thursday 12-8, Friday-Saturday 12-10, Sunday 12-8, or DM your artist (e.g., @justinklart for Justin) to book.
  2. What if my tattoo or piercing needs adjustments?
    We offer touch-ups for tattoos (e.g., Gabby’s full-color pieces).
  3. How do I choose a design at Ink Haven?
    Pick a meaningful symbol, quote, or style—AJ’s traditional, Sydney’s neo-traditional.  Our artists collaborate to create custom art.
  4. Is it safe to get a tattoo or piercing at Ink Haven?
    Yes, safety is our priority. We use sterile equipment, including the 2 in-training artists, for top standards.
  5. Can I get permanent cosmetics at Ink Haven?
    Yes! Sydney offers permanent cosmetics lasting up to two years. DM @sydlvicious to book.
